For refugee Doctors looking for a role in the UK’s NHS.

The Doctors Gateway Access Programme has been specifically created to support Doctors with refugee status*, already residing in the UK, to obtain their first role as a Doctor in the NHS.

 

Is the Doctors Gateway Access Programme right for me?

If you have a General Medical Council (GMC) registration, licence to practise and recognised refugee status or equivalent and are looking to start your NHS career, the Doctors Gateway Access Programme can offer you:

  • Circa 24-months** of employment at one of our Gateway Partner Trusts.
  • A safe and supported route into the NHS.
  • The opportunity to work in a specialty reflecting your experience.
  • Employment at the equivalent to FY2 level, moving to higher grade once assessed by your employer.
  • Stability, and a guaranteed income.

    • 30 hours a year of accredited learning designed specifically to meet your needs.
    • Access to accredited 'training to be a teacher' and teaching opportunities.
    • Appraisal support including, preparation for and completion of your annual appraisal, meeting GMC requirements.

    • Support with the next steps in your career.
