The Doctors Gateway Core Programme

For Doctors who have completed their CREST/FPCC and want to gain experience in their chosen speciality in the UK’s NHS.

This programme has been created for Doctors who have completed CREST/FPCC and would like to broaden their clinical experience. Whether you are undecided on your chosen career or are waiting to start HEE training, the Doctors Gateway Core Programme provides you with a continuous placement in your chosen specialty.

Undertaking our programme will support your application for core training by providing you with experience in your chosen specialty, such as orthopaedics, surgery or general practitioner training.

 

Is the Doctors Gateway Core Programme right for me?

If you have finished the Gateway EU Programme and have CREST sign off, or have a Foundation Programme Certificate of Completion (FPCC) and are looking for:

  • Experience in a chosen core specialty.
  • A minimum of 6-months continuous employment in your preferred location (where available).
  • Stability, and a guaranteed income.
  • Supported experience to strengthen your CV and application for HEE core/specialty training.

    • 30 hours per year of accredited learning tailored to EU graduates.
    • Guidance and support for completing audits and quality improvement workstreams.

    • Appraisal support, including preparation for and completion of your annual appraisal to meet GMC requirements.
    • Understanding the difference between ARCP and the self-directed appraisal process (for FPCC Doctors).
