What is the Gateway Access Programme?

The Gateway Access Programme has been specifically created to support doctors with Refugee status* obtain their first role as a doctor in the NHS. 

 

Is the Doctors Gateway Access Programme right for me?

If you have a GMC registration, licence to practise and recognised Refugee status or equivalent and are looking to start your NHS career, the Doctors Gateway Access Programme can offer you:

  • 24 months of stable employment at one of our Gateway Partners
  • Safe and supported route into the NHS
  • Opportunity to work in a specialty reflecting your experience
  • Starting work at the equivalent to FY2 level, moving to higher grade once assessed by your employer
  • Stability, and a guaranteed income

Applications are considered on a continuous basis, and you could start the programme at any point throughout the year.
