Healthcare Scientist G.E.M Winners

We are pleased to announce some of our healthcare scientist winners for the 2023 G.E.M (Going The Extra Mile) awards. Keep reading to find out why they were nominated.

Juscimara, from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, Healthcare Scientist has worked in pathology in UHS for 2 years. Her colleagues say she has grown to be a key and reliable staff member in the biochemistry family.

Her nominators say: “She has stepped in and ensured that this equipment is always available to use. She is happy to attend issues anywhere in the hospital as needed. She has even voluntarily changed her hours to make sure all the systems are set in time.

Every day she brings happiness and positivity to her team and all patients and colleagues we interact with. She not only helps with the tasks at hand but also lifts the mood and provides emotional support for all members of staff.”

Kenneth, from Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is a reliable, hardworking member of his team. He covers the Dispensary service and supports his team with medicines related advice and guidance queries, both on wards and in the community.

His colleagues say: "Kenneth has been calm and polite, despite all the pressures the team is under. He has been an invaluable support to our Pharmacists, who can then ensure wards and other services are covered. Staff morale has greatly improved, knowing that urgent queries are dealt with swiftly."

Congratulations Juscimara and Kenneth! We thank you, for your positivity and for always going above and beyond.
