To celebrate National Care Certificate Day on 5th December 2024, we asked those who have graduated from the NHS Professionals HCSWD training programme to tell us about their experience during and after their training.

Take a look at the great feedback we received:

It made me stand out amongst other care assistants or care support workers because I got first hand experience learning on the job while doing the training. It made it easier and faster for me to incorporate myself in the NHS system because I did the training in the ward.” Juliet, Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust

"My advice would be to go for it, especially if you have a genuine passion for helping others. The programme offers invaluable hands-on experience and teaches essential skills, from effective communication to practical caregiving techniques." Blessing, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust

"The HCSWD programme has significantly advanced my career by equipping me with essential skills and boosting my confidence as a healthcare assistant. Through focused training and hands-on experience, I’ve become more proficient in-patient care, communication, and handling clinical tasks." Comfort, University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust

"What I enjoyed most about the programme was the direct support and mentorship from experienced healthcare professionals. The practical, hands-on training sessions were incredibly rewarding as they allowed me to gain confidence in providing patient care." Ikponmwosa, The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust
