Nursing & Midwifery G.E.M Winners

We are pleased to announce some of our nursing & midwifery winners for the 2023 G.E.M (Going the Extra Mile) awards. Keep reading to find out why they were nominated.

Herjohn, from University Hospital Southampton NHS FT, was awarded a very special G.E.M Award, after receiving the highest number of nominations this year! 18 of his colleagues took the time to nominate Herjohn for this award, describing him as a true team player with outstanding leadership skills and an inspiring vision.

Here are just a few of his nominations:

"His commitment to integrity and ethics is unwavering, creating a foundation of trust and respect within the team."

"His compassion allows him to connect with patients on a personal level, providing emotional support in addition to medical care."

You may recognise Herjohn, as he was also a G.E.M Award winner in 2022!

 

Samuel, from South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, has been described as a joy to work with, with his positive approach and calm nature.

His colleague said: “Samuel shows immense commitment to the team. At short notice he frequently supports the service by working shifts. He is renowned in the team as being able to work under the most challenging situations. Samuel you are a credit to your profession.”

 

 

 

 

 

Taiwo, a HCSWD Programme Member from Livewell Southwest, has been described as a friendly and approachable team member who goes out of his way to help others.

His colleague said: “His dedication to the team has not gone unnoticed since he started. He always keeps patient care at the forefront of his mind and has been observed to have a positive impact on those admitted to the ward.”
