International Nurses Day and International Day of the Midwife at Royal Berkshire Hospital

International Nurses Day is celebrated on 12th May each year, to coincide with the birthday of Florence Nightingale. This International Day of Celebration serves to highlight the important role nurses fulfil in healthcare, worldwide.

On the 5th May International Day of the Midwife is celebrated. It acknowledges and celebrates the crucial contributions of midwives in maternal and new-born healthcare.

At NHS Professionals we visited the Nursing and Midwifery Teams to give out goodies such as pin badges, chocolates, sweets and NHSP water bottles to the wards and distributed to nurses on duty.

All Nursing Bank Members were given the opportunity to enter our competition to win a £100 Buy a Gift Voucher, and a £100 Red Letter Day Voucher (details on how to enter was shared with members in this months NHSP Digest). Winners were contact directly by 17th May 2024.

A big thank you to everyone who has been involved so far – please look out for the photos on our social media channels.
