Changes to ID Policy for all Bank Members
We have updated our ID policy for Bank Members when undertaking shifts. Please note that this has been reflected in the Bank Member Code of Behaviour.
To ensure the safety of staff and patients within NHS Trusts, regular ID checks are conducted for all staff.
Going forward, please ensure that you bring an acceptable form of personal photo identification (see the list below of acceptable ID) AND your NHS Professionals ID badge, which you will be asked to present at the start of every shift.
Acceptable photo identification:
- Full, signed UK (Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Irish) passport or other nationalities passport
- UK Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) card
- UK full or provisional photocard driving licence
- Other nationalities photocard driving licence. (Valid up to 12 months from the date when the individual entered the UK)
- HM Armed Forces Identity card (UK)
- Identity cards carrying the PASS (Proof of Age Standards Scheme) accreditation logo (issued in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man only)
- EEA government issued identity cards that comply with Council Regulation (EC) No 2252/2004, containing a biometric
If you are unable to present acceptable photo ID and your NHS Professionals ID badge, you may be turned away from the shift. If this occurs, you will not be eligible for payment for the shift.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your local NHSP team or, if out of hours, our National Service Centre on 03332 407 552.
