NHS Professionals are proud to launch ‘The General Practice Bank’ (GP Bank), providing a flexible workforce to a number of Primary Care Networks, allowing local General Practices (GP) to better utilise and share resources across local communities, ensuring continuity of patient care and safety, reduce high spend on agency staff, and maximisation of delivery against targets. – All by providing extra capacity and flexibility to GP Practices.
To meet the needs of Primary Care services in England a number of practices have started to work together to provide better provisions of proactive, personalised, coordinated and more integrated health and social care, known as ‘Primary Care Networks’. These services include general practice, community pharmacy, dental, and optometry (eye health) services to local practices all working together to provide a local Primary Care Network.
The NHS long-term plan and the new five-year framework for the GP contract, published in January 2019, put a more formal structure around this way of working, but without creating new statutory bodies.
By joining The GP Bank, you will be supporting demand from a number of key areas across your chosen Primary Care Network, providing you with extra flexibility and expanding your career development opportunities.
